Well, hello there! Welcome to 5-7-5 Live!
This is a fun and interactive blog that combines photography and a bit of creative writing in the form of a haiku, a Japanese-style poem consisting of 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. The "Live" in 5-7-5 Live rhymes with "five" and refers to the people featured on the blog, who are living, breathing human beings.
5-7-5 Live will feature people that I have met, accompanied by a haiku written specifically for them.
As I love reading comments and I want to make this an interactive blog, I encourage YOU to write a haiku or another short poem for the featured person, even if you don't know him/her. You could make someone's day just a little brighter!
But please keep your comments grandma-friendly (if you can't say those words to your grandma, don't say them here). Remember, these people are real and they have feelings, too!
I am looking forward to reading your haikus and comments. The blog will be updated at least once a week. Please visit often.
All photos are taken by me, unless otherwise stated. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at thingamajigblog at gmail.com.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my little blog.
P.S To learn a little more about me or to leave me a haiku note, check out the first blog post, "This is me, Shutterbug"
